Charlton 3 - 2 Derby Fulham 0 - 1 Wolves Preview Three games into the 2014/15 SkyBet Championship finds two pre-season promotion contenders much lower in the table than they would've hoped. Last season's flamboyant top goalscorers Derby County have so far struggled to recapture some of last season's magic, and fans will soon begin to worry should the wait for a convincing league victory go on. On Saturday, they host relegated Premier League mainstays Fulham who had hoped for a quick return to the top flight. However, Felix Magath's men have so far failed to notch a single point, losing their opening three fixtures by a single goal on each occasion. Despite spending huge money on proven goalscorer Ross McCormack, Fulham have so far found the net on just one occasion, with their only goal coming from defender Tim Hoogland. Fans will then surely worry about the proposition of travelling to Derby to face a side who have kept two clean sheets in their opening three fixtures. Indeed, previous to their midweek game against Charlton, it was a sturdy defence that described the Rams' opening to the season - far from the swashbuckling antics throughout the back half of the last campaign. Although they have showed glimpses of their hidden quality, the home crowd will hope for a convincing victory full of flair and pace to lift spirits. Unfortunately for fans of both sides, history suggests that a draw may be the likely result with the last four contests between Derby and the Cottagers resulting in a draw after 90 minutes, including two during Derby's most recent run in the Premier League. Steve McClaren's Derby enter the game as favourites, however that tag may be beginning to weigh heavily on some of the younger player's in his squad, with the likes of Will Hughes perhaps dropping to the bench in favour of the more experienced John Eustace, or more cultured Omar Mascarell, after having an unconvincing start to the season in front of the back four. A win for both sides could be vital in restarting their season and begin the charge up the table, with sights set on the coveted automatic promotion spots and a return to the Barclays Premier League. Whilst failure may signal a wake up call to the reality that the SkyBet Championship may be the most competitive league in the world, and one not easily escaped. Team News Derby County
One or two changes must surely be made to the Rams' starting 11, after picking up just one point from their last two games
Recalls to the starting line-up possible for Johnny Russell, Leon Best and John Eustace
No fresh injury concerns for Steve McClaren leaves him with a wealth of options in attack and midfield
Fulham
Felix Magath made five changes ahead of the Cottager's last game against Wolves, however the result remained the same. More changes can be expected as he struggles to find his best 11
The few guarenteed starters include big money man Ross McCormack, captain Scott Parker and goalkeeper Jesse Joronen
Three different formations have been used in Fulham's opening three games, however it is likely that a line up will be selected in order to suppress Derby's width
Top Goalscorers Derby: Jeff Hendrick / Jamie Ward (2) Charlton: Tim Hoogland (1)
23 min - GOAL DERBY! Jamie Ward's 3rd in the last 2!
28 min - Mostly Derby so far, with Fulham struggling to get any real possession in the Rams' half
31 min - Dangerous ball into the box by Fulham from a free kick, put out for a corner well by Christie
34 min - Fulham starting to get on the ball more, with a few corners building up
37 min - Ross McCormack spots Grant off his line and tries and audacious long range effort, dealt with by Grant but Fulham's best effort so far
41 min - Complete switch in momentum now as Fulham have had much of the play for the last 10 minutes
41 min - Derby counter up the pitch and earn a pair of corners, relieving some pressure in the process
45 min (+1) - A foul on Russell by Kavanagh earns Derby a free kick in their own half which should be the last kick of the first half
HALF TIME Ross McCormack and Scott Parker the two stand outs for Fulham for me, with McCormack often going deep to get involved. We looked a lot stronger for the majority of the half, but Fulham finished the stronger and Derby will hope to start the second as they began the first. As for the Rams, John Eustace has provided a good stable base to build from, and is staking his place well to start reguarly. KICK OFF
50 min - An interestingly worked free kick for Derby results in a good ball in by Jamie Ward which is headed over by Keogh
52 min - Eustace intercepts in the middle and feeds the ball to Johnny Russell who blazes over the bar, Derby looking bright though
53 min - GOAL FULHAM! Scott Parker
53 min - A free kick smashed straight into the wall eventually finds its way to Scott Parker who slots a placed shot inside the post and into the Derby County net
55 min - A great worked move by Derby County ends with a great ball across the box by Jeff Hendrick, and Chris Martin skies the ball over an empty net!
57 min - Derby really in the ascendancy after conceding, looking much the more likely to take the lead again
59 min - GOAL DERBY! Craig Bryson
59 min - Another fluid move by the Rams going forward is met by a neat cushioned volley by Craig Bryson from close range
60 min - Substitute Fulham Stafylidis Off Kacaniklic On
61 min - GOAL DERBY! Chris Martin
61 min - It's all going on now! Real end to end stuff as Chris Martin finds some space in the box and slots the ball into the corner of the net
66 min - Substitute Fulham Hoogland Off Voser On
68 min - The game has calmed down somewhat after a frantic 10 minutes following the Fulham goal, and Ross McCormack has gone down with a head injury
72 min - Attendance is 26, 577
76 min - Still no substitutes for Derby, I'd like to see one or two fresh legs on to secure the 3 points
76 min - Jamie Ward has been fantastic today, and puts another good ball into the box
80 min - Final Sub for Fulham Roberts Off Eisfeld On
81 min - The link-up play for Fulham just doesn't seem to be quite there today, with one-twos not finding their mark by small margins
82 min - Substitute Derby Russell Off Dawkins On
83 min - Substitute Derby Bryson Off Hughes On
87 min - GOAL DERBY! Chris Martin
87 min - The two substitutes combine as Hughes frees Simon Dawkins who hits the post with the rebound falling kindly for Chris Martin
88 min - GOAL DERBY! Simon Dawkins
88 min - Hughes AGAIN frees Simon Dawkins who this time slots home
90 min - Final Sub for Derby Ward Off Best On
90 min (+1) - It's Olé time now for Derby, who are happy to see out their first big win of the season!
FULL TIME It's a fourth straight defeat for Fulham, and Derby finally notch up a string of goals and claim their first emphatic win of the season. BBC Report http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28815106
10 min - Derby dominating possession in the early stages, with a couple of decent efforts so far
14 min - Great chance for blackpool, but it's headed into Butland's hands
16 min - McMahon nicks the ball from Cyrus Christie and forces a great save from Jack Butland
17 min - Yellow card for Andrea Orlandi (Blackpool)
18 min - Big spell of pressure for Blackpool, racking up 3 corners quickly
23 min - Derby facing a lot of pressure with Butland being called into action a few times
24 min - Nathan Delfouneso is granted a glorious chance and does well but can't finish
30 min - Derby with lots of possession but not producing anything serious, meanwhile Blackpool look a threat every time they get the ball
33 min - Yellow card for Cyrus Christie (Derby)
40 min - Forsyth puts through Johnny Russell who did well but couldn't finsh
44 min - Good play by Derby results in a good header which is tipped over
45 min - HALF TIME Blackpool 0 - 0 Derby
First half ends 0-0, Blackpool were much better in the first half an hour, but Derby ended the half strongly and were unlucky not to score. Ismail Miller was the big threat for Blackpool, however Derby will be looking to take advantage of the change of ends as the Wind blows against Blackpool in the second half.
46 min - KICK OFF
50 min - Good play by Christie and Russell nearly breaks the deadlock for Derby, but Martin and a handful of others are unable to get that meaningful touch
55 min - Good corner whipped in by Blackpool is headed just over the bar
62 min - Some better play coming from Derby but it's a bit scrappy at times
65 min - A great strike by Johnny Russell brings a great save from the Blackpool keeper
70 min - Derby pressing and pushing for the first goal. Blackpool have a free kick in a dangerous area but the * ball in comes to nothing
74 min - SUB DERBY Hughes, Ibe Off Bryson, Best On
75 min - Chris Martin is on the floor in pain, the Derby fans wait in hope to see if he'll be ok

78 min - PENALTY DERBY COUNTY Johnny Russell drew the foul after a great run
78 min - Chris Martin to take
78 min - GOAL DERBY!! Chris Martin nets his 10th of the season! Smashed home!
85 min - Incredible run by Johnny Russell ends in a good tackle as Leon Best is screaming for the ball to be squared to him
87 min - Great chance for Bryson to make it 2 for Derby, but a block has just about got there
90 min - FULL WHISTLE GOES AND THE GAME ENDS BLACKPOOL 0 - 1 DERBY, AND DERBY ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE
Thorne is out of contention, and Bryson is unlikely to feature
Captain Chris Baird is out through concussion
Will Hughes remains out for a very long time
Derby finally recorded their first win of the season at the weekend
Reading remain at home coming off a huge 5 - 1 win over Ipswich
One to watch: Oliver Norwood. A very complete midfielder at this level will look to take control of the game, must be kept off the ball.
Pazzyboi's Preview: Now we finally have a win under our belt, we need to press on and show it isn't an isolated result. It'll be tough facing a Reading side who will be high on confidence after an amazing result on Friday, and rotation may be our key to winning the game. Our squad is deeper than any in the league as far as I am concerned, even with 3 injuries, and we should use it to our advantage when the games come thick and fast. The starting lineup I would play is:
Carson Christie Shackell Pearce Forsyth Hanson Hendrick Butterfield Ince Weimann Martin
As far as I'm concerned only Martin and Shackell are undroppable, with maybe Ince due to what he CAN do. It pains me to leave Keogh and Russell out, but Pearce has had little time and Weimann needs to prove himself too. Christie needs to keep his place and I'd rather start Forsyth over Warnock, and Hendrick looked good coming off the bench at the weekend. I'd also put Carson back in goal, but I really wish we'd have some consistency in that position. I think this is likely to be a tough game, especially in the first half, but one we should be looking to win. I think if we use our strength in depth and rotate a little we will be able to pile pressure on in the second half and grab a late winner. 2-1 again.

Kick-off: 15:00 GMT
Previous Fixtures Portsmouth 2 - 1 Derby Charlton 4 - 1 Dag & Red Pre-Match Facts
Will Hughes and Craig Bryson remain injured
Two poor performances to start the season, massive improvement needed here
Interestingly we face Charlton coming off a big win against Dagenham & Redbridge at Home, just like our last opponents Portsmouth
Charlton won their opening fixture convincingly 2-0 at home to QPR
Darren Bent, Simon Dawkins, and Lee Grant are three that under-performed midweek, and are unlikely to keep their places
One to watch: Tony Watt. The young striker, formerly of Celtic, famously scored against Barcelona in the Champions League. Still only 21, he already has 2 goals to his name this season. He didn't start the season's opener, but after his performances he may well start this one.
Pazzyboi's Preview: An improved performance is direly needed as our season has really yet to begin. Thankfully our defeat didn't come in the competition that should be our primary focus, the SkyBet Championship, but it has to be the wake up call we need. Charlton have won both of their fixtures thus far, including a convincing home win over relegated QPR. However, I feel that the home advantage, and it being our first home game of the season, should give us an edge we desperately need. As far as I'm concerned, until mistakes are made, Scott Carson should now be our first choice goalkeeper. Midweek also showed how much we miss Hughes and Bryson, and I really hope we bring one more face into the club in that area. Hendrick and Baird failed to control the midfield without Thorne, and it really showed when the latter came onto the pitch. The starting lineup I would play is:
Carson Baird Shackell Keogh Forsyth Thorne Hendrick Ince Weimann Russell Martin
It is a tough one to figure out at the moment. Normally I'd go for a 4-3-3, but I think midweek showed me that a Hendrick and Baird midfield isn't the answer. As a result Sswankambo, who I thought did well against Pompey, misses out. I want to see Weimann given a chance in the number 10 slot as I think he can really make a big impact there, with Ince good running at people out wide and cutting inside. I'm going to predict a narrow 2-1 win, with us maybe not deserving it. A scrappy win which can help get the season moving
Derby 2 - 0 Reading Chelsea 2 - 1 Bolton Preview Tomorrow afternoon a Bolton Wanderers side that has struggled for form this season, will host a Derby County side that may just be beginning to find a higher gear. Bolton have only one league win to their name so far this season, and find themselves outside of the bottom three on goal difference alone. However, manager Dougie Freedman remains confident his side will turn their fortunes around, and a win over much-fancied Derby County would certainly go a long way to doing that. The Rams, meanwhile, have recently extended their Capital One Cup run with a comprehensive 2 - 0 victory over Reading, and in recent fixtures have begun to show some of the eye-catching football that saw pundits and fans expect big things. In their most recent league fixtures, at times, Derby had all but blown Blackburn and Cardiff away, however they did not take advantage - resulting in dropped points last weekend, and a late scare the outing before. The Trotters have regularly been under the cosh this season, facing over 20 attempts on goal on multiple occasions - something that could well spell disaster against a Derby County side that led the goalscoring charts at the end of the last SkyBet Championship season. Dougie Freedman cannot surely hope to sit back and invite pressure at home to a Derby side with 7 goals in their last 3 fixtures. Derby have however looked more fragile at the back so far this season, conceding 2 against both Cardiff and Blackburn when under control, and have not registered a league clean sheet in 7 Championship fixtures. Therefore, if Bolton have a go at a Rams side with a doubt to regular starter Jake Buxton, they could well find themselves claiming points from a high scoring game. Regardless, Derby enter heavy favourites having only tasted defeat once this season - and no losses in the last 9 fixtures. Meanwhile, Bolton have just 5 points from 8 games and will start to worry if the wins don't start to add up soon. Expect a tough game for both sides, with both sets of fans desperate to see their side climb the table. Team News Derby County
Jake Buxton is a doubt with a problem with his tendon
Steve McClaren rotated midweek against Reading, with many of the unusual starters impresing, he may have some tough decisions to make
Jeff Hendrick still remains injured, with a couple weeks to go at least
Ward, Russell, Dawkins, Best, Martin, Ibe all have arguments to be amongst the starting trio
Bolton Wanderers
Chris Herd and Kevin McNaughton are both inline to make their returns from injury, with Herd likely to make his debut for Wanderers
Matt Mills and Dorian Dervite are beginning to form a partnership at the back for Bolton, so it could be expected that they continue in their roles with Andy Lonergan in net

Watford 1 - 2 Derby Blackburn 2 - 1 Leeds Top Goalscorers Derby: Chris Martin (12) Leeds: Souleymane Doukara (7) Talking Points
Derby have recovered from two back-back league losses, to once again find themselves top of the SkyBet Championship - now with a 3 point gap over second place.
Leeds, in contrast, find themselves in 16th place after 18 match days. However, 4 of their 5 league wins have come at home - along with 15 of their 20 points.
The Rams have an excellent record over Leeds United in recent times, with their last defeat coming back in September 2005. Derby have since won an incredible 10 out of 12 since then!
Leeds did put an end to the 10 straight defeats by holding Derby to a draw back in May, however, their form thus far has been poor and they would gladly take the same result again tomorrow afternoon against the league leaders.
Bristol City: In For A Penny, Out With A Pound (March through June 2015)
Mid Season Murder Sorry for the delay, my internet was out all day. March 2015 Growth Report:
Burns 65 (+3)
Yesil 67 (+4)
We go into March hoping to restore winning ways after a ropey set of results from December through February, Freeman is our biggest hope for now having struck 11 times in the 2 month spell just gone. Results:
H vs Notts County, W 2-0 (Gallagher 2) - League debut for Sammy leads to a wonderful solo performance, blasting in one either side of halftime.
A vs Crawley, W 2-0 (Yesil, Agard) - We "steal" a win I guess, with neither side really making much if anything. In the end the fact we had a pair of chances gave us a win.
H vs MK Dons, W 1-0 (Yesil) - 10 man Dons kept the score down with a set of borderline assaults all over the pitch. Not a pretty match to watch.
A vs Walsall, W 2-1 (Yesil, Zelalem) - Our two loans on the score sheet, as a late goal for the home side is the only reason the score looked less than comfortable.
H vs Coventry, W 3-1 (Gallagher, Freeman, Bryan) - At 2-1 Tavarnier got himself sent off as we threatened to throw away our good run, however Freeman planted in another one to kill Coventry hopes.
N vs Doncaster, W 2-1 (Freeman 2) - Now I wish I'd have been more on song, but things are forgotten. With the league run on a slide I didn't even notice that the Trophy final had rolled around already. Freeman have us the lead, and then won it in Extra Time, as we pick up the first cup of my managerial run.
We finished the month 18 points clear, and with a piece silverware bagged, we are also fully aware that with only 18 points up for grabs we need only avoid defeat in any of the remaining 6 matches to seal the title in a fantastic season. Ramallo remains top scorer with 24 to his name. Smith's 11 assists make him the leader. Alnwick took centre stage for the keepers, 16 clean sheets to his name now. April 2015 Growth Report:
Bentley 65 (+2) Smith 68 (+3)
Meeking 68 (+1) Freeman 67 (+1)
Zelalem 65 (+2) Little 67 (+2)
An entrancing, or disappointing, month awaits as we need only take a point from 5 to seal SkyBet League 1 title. It feels all a little anti-climatic after the nerves of 2015 that we could win the title with so little fuss. Still, we were forced to raise our first Youth Academy product this month, American starlet Pzydrowski may only be 55 overall as of now but his potential stood at 80+ at the time of promoting. Time is on his side, and I like the look of him. Results:
A vs Swindon, W 2-0 (Freeman, Meekings) - Freeman's goal, Freemans corner. We seal the title on day one of April as we are safe.
H vs Scunthorpe, W 2-1 (Yesil, Zelalem) - The loan boys are on it again, edging the a win for us.
News Its a shame, Yesil is ruled out fir a month and is set to miss the remaining fixtures of the campaign.
A vs Rochdale, W 2-1 (Agard, Freeman) - A good, but tired, win as we look to just fade into the end of season. We have nothing left to prove.
H vs Yeovil, W 2-0 (Agard 2) - Agard may not be the fans favourite, but his double will write him some history as we beat our local rivals.
A vs Preston North End, L 2-1 (Powell) - Powell returns with a goal. as we sleep walk to a defeat. we definitely seem like we are ready for our holidays.
News Meekings tore his grown, and becomes the second of our starting eleven to miss the final game of the season.
With 45 games played we are officially champions, we have amassed 106 points, 19 clear of Barnsley and I'm ready to get on with the finish and start next season. Ramallo now on 25 goals is the highest scorer still. Smith added one more to his assist tally, still topping the league with 12. Alnwick still tops the league with 16 clean sheets, going into the final game of the season. May 2015 Growth Report:
Agard 68 (+2)
I decided to give you something extra in May, to stop in being a wasted month. Only one game is boring to read, so here's a real basic look at my youth prospects.
15 year old Byrne is a central defender from Ireland, an overall band of 51-65 makes him an interesting depth prospect, his potential stated at 68-88
15 year old Whitehead, another one from Ireland, is a goalkeeper with his overall banded at 62-75 he could be special but at 75-94 it's still too early.
15 year old McCarthy, is a defensive midfielder and another one of our promising Irish quartet, an overall of 59-75 his potential already stands at 86-94 and he is my favourite of the lot.
15 year old Fredericks, the only non-Irish prospect on our books, the attacking midfielder is English and stands with a 54-66 overall banding, his potential the lowest I'd the group at 68-84.
17 year old Heffernan is the last if the prospects anD willl be promoted soon. The central defender has 63-77 overall. And 83-94 potential, he could go far, and he will start with us next season.
Result:
H vs Fleetwood, W 5-1 (Freeman 3, Powell, Agard) - and we sign out in style, a home destruction of Fleetwood enough to start the end of season party.
The season is over and we are champions, not only that but we can boast of a cup win as well, we amassed 109 points over the season winning 33 games, drawing 10 and, annoyingly, losing 3 of our games. We acories 99 goals in the process, while we managed a league best 37 conceded. Ramallo took home the golden boot, 25 his final total. Smith won the assists award, 12 enough to edge out Yesil on 11. Alnwick finished with 18 clean sheets, somehow managing two in a month with just one game. He won golden gloves. June 2015 Growth Report:
Zelalem 66 (+3)
Bishop 60 (+4)
Pzydrowski 56 (+1)
With this month purely an admin month, I will still tell you what happened, but it's not that interesting though.
Pack had a contract extension offered, but his wage demands proved more important to him than loyalty and he, along with Richards and Wilbraham, will he leaving the club at the end of the season..
Reid and Al-Abd returned early from their loans, though they were followed back by a host of players who's loans had finished. Unfortunately for us Yesil would be leaving the club, we simply couldn't afford to turn the deal into a permanent one. He'll return to Liverpool as Zelalem goes back to Arsenal.
Our scouts were pulled back from their assignments, with the intention to be sending them out all at once to give some organisation to the Youth System.
Of the Youth System, Heffernan was given his first pro deal. The highly rated centre back has some well rounded statsx and at 68 overall could come in handy in several positions next season, I have high hopes for him.
Finally, our job is safe and I will see you next season for an assault on the championship.
Thanks once again for reading, and I'll see you here at the end of September. Next Level Game
